It was a bitter sweet day for the Miley family as they held there much anticipated dispersal sale in Roscommon mart last Saturday the 23rd of November in front of a packed out ringside. Onlookers did not have to wait long for records to be smashed as lot11 entered the ring, a ewe who is no stranger to breaking records as she was a double all Ireland winner and countless other show champion around the country “Knockcroghery Winter”. After a flurry of bids the hammer fell at €10,000 as she heads across the water to Logie Durno Farms in Aberdeenshire. The string of records being broken was not yet over as a daughter of the above mentioned winter and lot 91 in sale entered the packed out ring. Again onlookers could hardly believe there eyes as bids flew in for the ewe lamb and finally stopping at €11,000 heading to the same home as her mother in Aberdeenshire. The committee would like to thank Declan for his hard work and dedication to the breed over the many years and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
