The Premier Sale of the Irish Charollais Sheep Society for 2019 sees us changing direction somewhat.
- With the viewpoint of further developing markets the decision was made to change the location of this year’s premier sale from Tullow to Tullamore. As a Society, We have always enjoyed a good working relationship with Tullow throughout the years and with ram sales still planned to go ahead there along with an in Lamb Sale later in the year we have no doubt that this will continue.
- This year’s revamped sale will see some positive changes. The predominant one being that the presale show will now be held on the Friday evening. This will give both sellers and buyers are more relaxed atmosphere on the Saturday morning to view the quality stock on offer. It is anticipated that this year we will have approximately 200 pedigree registered Charollais sheep on offer. Rams will consist of both lambs and hoggets and this will be the same for the female classes. Breeders from throughout the country will be exhibiting their best stock and this is your opportunity to have access to the top Rams from some of the best bloodlines currently within the country.
- We are also delighted to confirm that Ms. Deborah Whitcher of the highly acclaimed Galtres flock from the UK, has accepted our invitation to judge at this year’s sale. We are very much looking forward to meeting Ms. Whitcher in her judging capacity as she selects through the exhibits presented to decide on her Male and Female Champion.
